COMPANY BACKGROUND

 
Nestlé, a Swiss company established by Henri Nestlé in the year 1866, had been present in India since the year 1912. The company started with agents in Chennai, one of the largest cities located on the southeastern coast of India, and in Kolkata, importing and selling condensed milk and skimmed milk powder.

In the year 1961, Nestlé established its first manufacturing unit in Moga, Punjab, with the intention of engaging in the production of milk-based products. As of 2012, it had eight manufacturing plants in India, operating in Moga (Punjab), Choladi (Tamil Nadu), Nanjangud (Karnataka), Samalkha (Haryana), Ponda and Bicholim (Goa), Pantnagar (Uttarakhand), and Tahliwal (Himachal Pradesh). ..
